Angstadt Family Dental uses the VELscope VX, one of the latest available models of VELscope technology. It has natural tissue fluorescence to help our team uncover any abnormalities in your oral mucosa.
The same technology is used by our staff to perform oral cancer screenings. The procedure can be done in conjunction with a routine cleaning and usually takes just a couple of short minutes to be completed.
Dr. Angstadt believes in treating the whole person, so in addition to checking for cancer with visual exams of the mouth and throat, he has also invested in the VELscope, which can quickly screen and identify abnormal cells within the mouth that could identify oral cancer. The VELscope Vx is completely safe, doesn’t require unpleasant rinses or stains, and takes about two minutes.
Another digital screening product that our team uses is the DIAGNOdent scanning tool. This device helps our staff see any tooth decay issues that may be forming.
DIAGNOdent scanning is a noninvasive procedure that uses light wavelengths to discover bacteria and decay in your mouth without the doctor or hygienist needing to use more invasive tools. You can also visit the DIAGNOdent website for additional information.
Angstadt Family Dental offers a number of digital dentistry options to aid all kinds of dental restoration. When traditional dental techniques are not enough, digital dentistry may be able to provide you with a better solution.
Studies have shown that laser dentistry can be less traumatic than the drill. After extensive research, Dr. Angstadt chose the Waterlase MD™ laser system. It’s a revolutionary dental tool that uses a combination of laser energy and water to perform a variety of dental procedures without shots or anesthesia. This system can be used in many kinds of dental work – from fixing cavities to preparing teeth for crowns and root canals.
It provides a quick and unique cutting action that is precise and gentle, so it preserves healthy tooth or gums around a cavity or diseased gums. “It’s an approach called minimally invasive dentistry,” Dr. Angstadt says. “The idea is to fix the diseased part of your tooth, gums or bone without damaging adjacent healthy tissue. Laser-assisted dentistry gives us a big advantage in providing excellent clinical care with maximum patient comfort.”
Dr. Angstadt is AMAZING!!! There are not enough stars to give him! I started having brutal pain Saturday morning that woke me straight up out of bed. I spent all day trying to find someone to help me, even going to the emergency room just to be told they couldn't help me and I needed an oral surgeon. As I was crying in pain in the middle of that night, I just started looking online for anyone that might be able to help me. I came across Dr. Angstadt's reviews and decided I'd try calling him at 3:15 am. He called me back a few hours later and made arrangements to see me that Sunday afternoon. I was TERRIFIED of having any work done to my teeth and was in tears when arriving. Dr. Angstadt had me calmed down within minutes. He took the time to calm all my fears and anxiety, explained everything he was going to do and as he did it. I don't know how but I didn't feel a thing! Not even the needle when he numbed me up. He checked on me that evening and the follow two days to see how I was recovering. I'm so grateful I found him and will DEFINITELY be returning to have future work done. There's no other dentist as caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional than him. He really knows what he's doing and takes pride in his work. He's worth every penny! Thank you so much Dr. Angstadt!!!
